October brought no shortage of great LEGO content from around the globe! Here at BrickNerd, we started the month by providing a Spiderman-themed spider model for Halloween and ended it with instructions for a cute ghost trick-or-treater. We had some fun with Wednesday sets, and learned about customizing a real-world motorcycle with LEGO, and cracked the secret code of LEGO castle sets. We looked at removing printing from LEGO elements to create a new minifig look and investigated how minifigure keychains are constructed to repair a sentimental keepsake. LEGO has announced an upcoming Black Friday 2025 Livestream to reveal a new mystery set. It will be held on November 6 at 9:15am PST/12:15pm EST. The caption reads, “Jump aboard to discover our newest set” and it’s very possible that it ties in to the LEGO Star Trek set that was teased back in September. The Star Trek set has been long rumored to be this year’s Black Friday set. There’s also an opportunity to win a signed copy of the set as well. Are you scared yet? I doubt it. This brick-built Halloween ghost isn’t here to scare anyone, just to get some candy! Yes, if you peek under that white sheet, there is just a kid in a costume going trick-or-treating. This build is another idea that our Nerd-in-Chief, Dave, gave me (like our Halloween spider instructions)—and I’m pretty happy with the outcome. I was thinking of doing a version of the character without the white cloth, but this might be a fun little challenge for you to build. I dare you! The costume looks good in person. LEGO has revealed the biggest LEGO Ideas announcement ever for the program where there are six winners for the First 2025 Review Stage. LEGO has released a teaser for the upcoming LEGO Ideas announcement which they say is the for the biggest review announcement ever. It’ll be this Thursday, October 30 for the First 2025 Review Stage which had 57 projects qualify for it. When they say it is the biggest announcement, it could either mean that the project is the biggest one that has won or it could mean that the number of projects that have passed is the most ever.
