If you’re still looking for the LEGO Disney Castle (43222), the Disney Store still currently has it in stock at retail price. The was officially retired at the end of 2025 and it has sold out at many other retailer as well. The set was released back in 2023 and has lasted for 2.5 years so this Disney stock is probably the last of it at retail price. As a Mavely Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases. There is one more day left to get your orders in for a couple of the remaining promotions on the LEGO Shop. Pre-orders for the LEGO SMART Play Star Wars sets went live yesterday but if you were in certain countries, you aren’t able to place your orders. After the CES 2026 event, we’ve gotten some more information about the LEGO SMART Play system and it was revealed that the sets will only be available on March 1 for six launch markets: United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, and Australia. This wasn’t mentioned during CES or at any presentations afterward so that’s very baffling. The following details are LEGO’s statement on why there are only six countries for the launch: The first LEGO SMART Play sets will be on shelf from 1st March 2026 in our six launch markets: US, UK, France, Germany, Poland and Australia. It wasn’t launched globally, as LEGO® SMART Play is a major transformative company-wide initiative that spans our entire value chain, from R&D to manufacturing and retail....

If you’re still looking for a deal on the LEGO Icons Blacktron Renegade (10355), Amazon currently has it on sale for 32% off. The set is now listed for $68. Although it’s not at its best sale, it’s still a decent price for a set that LEGO has still listed as retiring soon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. A new day and we have a small LEGO Ideas First 2026 Review Stage update as a few projects in the past few days have reached the 10,000 supporter goal. One surprise here is that a board game was able to hit the goal in about a day or so after it was posted so there was a lot of traction from somewhere. Back in the 15th century, THE renaissance man Leonardo Da Vinci had a dream to design a human-powered flying machine. He never realized his goal, but he quite impressively worked out an early understanding of many laws of physics behind flight—often based on observing birds and their mechanics. This allowed him to devise some pretty fantastic concepts that were ahead of his time, such as his famed “flying machine” (an ornithopter). The flying machine design revolves around a central wooden platform that the human lies on and works mechanisms with their arms and legs to power bird-like wings and a tail with ropes and pulleys. To be fair, Da Vinci’s ornithopter couldn’t get past the weight-to-power ratio that the inefficient flapping motion required. But, it sure looks cool, doesn’t it!? Isn’t she beauteous!! The creative folks over at LEGO decided to adapt Da Vinci’s ornithopter concept into set 10363, Leonardo da Vinci’s Flying Machine, and...

“The Conversation Piece” is a monthly BrickNerd series about creativity and building with LEGO authored by our friends over at the Builder Improvement Initiative (BII), a Discord-based community that helps LEGO builders of all levels get better at their craft through knowledge-sharing and constructive feedback. Have a question you would like us to consider for a future article? You can submit it here. Enjoy! Why So Many New Molds? Browsing the LEGO element catalog the past few years can make you feel like a kid in a candy store, or perhaps more accurately, a mall of candy stores. For nearly every category of part, we’ve seen several groundbreaking additions to the family: plates now come rounded with bar holes, wedge plates are becoming tiles, and brackets are always getting a new variant. The graph below charts the amount of new parts per year (taken from Brickset), although it is inclusive of...
