During its two-year run, LEGO produced just nine M-Tron sets, but for ’90s kids lucky enough to have a few sets with the magnet-wielding spacemen, the theme promised a boundless universe of adventure. We’ve featured many tributes to the theme over the years, but today’s M-Tron moc is special as it comes with free instructions to let you create your own retro Mobile Moon Base, just in time for Febrovery! Designed by Thomus Bean, the rover reworks the Arctic Explorer Science Lab set with M-Tron livery, magnet tech, and rugged tires. RebelLUG member Marc Linares (Syrdarian) is one of the hardest-working builders around, participating in competitions and collaborations that push outside of their comfort zone and learning from peers to broaden their toolbox of techniques. Marc’s latest is a microscale scene of extra-solar exploration on the planet Gothea, where miners work in domed settlements under an icy moon. The banded horizon evokes the iconic Tales of the Space Age ideas set, while the rockets and domes follow the colors of City Space. What impresses most about the build is the texture and depth. The icy moon features so many clever textural bits across its blue gradient. The planetary vista is made from a mix of studs up and SNOT planes, some a brick tick, others just a tile, creating so many layers in a compact space. And around the colony, incredible details come into focus, like a hill made from a minifig...

We are going to take a break from our normal coverage today to celebrate one of the best of the LEGO community, Joe Meno. When news broke of his passing, I was devastated and heartbroken. I’ve had to take many breaks while writing this article out of the emotion and grief, knowing such a dear friend is gone. For many readers, especially newer ones, the name Joe Meno might not immediately register. But if you’ve spent any meaningful time in the adult LEGO fan community over the last three decades, you have felt his influence… whether you realized it or not. Joe was the founder and longtime editor of BrickJournal, the first widely recognized print magazine devoted to adult LEGO fans. Long before “fan media” became popular, before influencer culture, before algorithms rewarded clicks, Joe was documenting builders through sheer hard work, telling the stories of the people behind the builds....

In a few weeks, LEGO will be releasing their second The Legend of Zelda set with the Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle (77093). The set has 1,003 pieces and retails for $129.99. Minifigures There are three minifigures in the set, Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. Link is in his iconic green outfit with the brown strap going across the chest. This is the same figure as in the Great Deku Tree (77092). The hairpiece is also connected to his green hat and ears. He does have a double-sided head with angry expressions on both sides. His accessories include the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. What’s interesting is that he doesn’t include the Ocarina of Time.
