Last month was the deadline for Nerdvember, where we challenged the BrickNerd community to take our favorite bespectacled mascot on vacation, and you absolutely delivered. From the tropics to snow ski vacations, Nerdly travelled the world! This year’s theme celebrated travel in all its forms. Whether Nerdly was relaxing, exploring, or getting into a bit of vacation trouble. There were so many interpretations of the theme from MOCs to travel photos. As always, each BrickNerd contributor and Patreon member had an equal vote, and the results were tight across the board. If you’re a student and have desires to become a LEGO designer, LEGO Ideas is offering a challenge and the winner will become an intern for LEGO. In the job offering, the internship will be from September-December for Concept/Model Design. In the the challenge, LEGO wants you to design something truly original and something not based on my existing IPs. The challenge will end on March 18. The latest addition of the up-scaled minifigures line is the Up-Scaled Blue Astronaut Minifigure (40921). Releasing in March, the set has 793 pieces and retails for $59.99. As you can see, the figure resembles the blue astronaut very nicely. The first part of the build is the torso which is similar to the previous scaled-up minifigures. In the front of the torso, we have a new printed panel for the Classic Space logo. The back of the torso has the air tanks attached using some pins. This is a very nice addition from LEGO to the get complete look of the minifigure. The neckstrap, however, is not connected to the air tanks but to the torso. The arms can rotate and the wrists are able to rotate as well. The legs themselves have gotten a slight update as the connections now use click hinges for the joints. This allows the figure...

So let me set the stage. You are in the middle of building something for an online building contest and you suddenly realize that you don’t have all the parts you need to complete it. Unfortunately, the contest is also one of those that require “physical bricks only” (no digital entries = sad face 😥). You search online for where you can obtain the parts you need… only to discover that they won’t arrive before the contest deadline, the parts are rare, there simply aren’t enough available in the world (thanks, to all the Bricks-and-Pieces [BaP] sheep and squirrel hoarders), or they would be too darn expensive to buy them. “What to do? In what has essentially turned into a weekly update for us, there are four more projects that have qualified for the LEGO Ideas First 2026 Review Stage.
