A little brain can be a dangerous thing

Boy, industrial containment standards sure have fallen lately, as evident in this LEGO build by Care Creations of one of the more disturbing video game bosses I have seen since Resident Evil, Mother Brain from Metroid. Clearly if a giant brain can break their glass prison this easily, someone in the QA department deserves to get fired, if they didn’t get devoured by Mother Brain first. This LEGO starfighter with teal accents has got it all

The angles on this LEGO starfigther in the Star Wars style are out of this galaxy! But I expect nothing less from Inthert who is well-known for his black magic brickery, merging smooth sections with studs in all directions. With not a single stud in sight, there’s still plenty of greebly textures (as in, like the surface of the Death Star) and excellent part usage. One example of this is the tooth element and the roller skate on the front section. The way the angled wing accents attached to the side guns look like they fold right into the main wings is magical. This picture of the underside reveals even more note-worthy details, like the hint of landing gear next to the gun attachments. There’s also some well-placed original dark gray elements to give the belly of the craft a weathered look. The post This LEGO starfighter with teal accents has...

Look, sir! 5,000 pieces of LEGO Star Wars awesomeness!

Mirko Soppelsa is (literally) building up quite the collection of massive LEGO Star Wars builds. This time, Davin Felth AKA TK-1023 is the subject of Mirko’s expert handiwork. What do you mean, you haven’t heard of Davin Felth?! If I say “Look, sir! Droids!”, does that help to jog your memory? Well, now you know his name, and you have to suffer with that useless knowledge taking up valuable space inside your brain like I do. Let’s just go back to admiring Mirko’s superbly detailed sculpture… And once you’re done with this one, you can see some of his other marvels in our archives. Samus fears this Metroid baddie made of LEGO

As one of the largest Space Pirates fought by warrior Samus Aran, it’s a wonder that this LEGO-made Kraid manages to fit into frame. Builder Bionic Supreme has clicked together the perfect set of dark green, olive green, and dark tan Bionicle bits to recreate this Metroid villain. But beware the spinning claws and abdominal spikes! Just like in the video games, they also look particularly deadly in brick-built form. And something tells me we’ll be seeing more of Samus’s foes in the near future…. The post Samus fears this Metroid baddie made of LEGO appeared first on The Brothers Brick. Bring in the Lunar New Year with this gorgeous (and huge!) LEGO apricot blossom tree

The last time Khang Huynh and Ky Duy Phong teamed up, they built one of the most impressive creations to feature on this website last year. With the Lunar New Year – or Tet, in their native Vietnam – coming up, these builders have joined forces again to create this suitably seasonal affair! It’s a colossal apricot blossom tree, symbolising good luck, good health, wealth, happiness and love in the new year. At the same time, this creation in particular symbolises just how talented Khang and Ky are! The large scale means some parts can be put to clever uses. A bunch of green swords are perfect for blades of grass, and the butterfly at the top uses wings re-purposed from an Avatar set. The post Bring in the Lunar New Year with this gorgeous (and huge!)
