An amusing tale of animal rescue from Skaerbaek Fan Weekend in 2023. Many moons ago, in the land of Vikings and plastic bricks, a small group of intrepid travellers sought out interesting goods and wares at the local purveyor of previously owned fine goods. The monkey and a traveller Amongst the wares, they were delighted to see a friendly, but lonely, monkey of epic proportions. The first traveller wished to rescue the monkey, but did not have enough coins of the realm. The second and third travellers also wished to rescue the monkey but did not have the means in which to safely transport it to their faraway abode. The travellers were sad to have to abandon the monkey, but the fates were not with them that day. Not all was lost, however, as another band of intrepid travellers appeared just a short time later. This group was younger and greater...
Superman returns to LEGO in 2025 and he’ll be in the Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor (76302). The set has 120 pieces and retails for $14.99. Minifigures The set only features minifigures of Superman and Lex Luthor. Supes has the classic red and blue suit with a new yellow belt. He has the usual double-sided head with the smirk on one side and the red eyes on the other. This version of Superman uses a the newer fabric cape. Lex Luthor has on one of his green and purple warsuits. I will say that the green on it really pops and the purple accents don’t look bad either. The look is complete with the trans-green shoulder armor piece. He has a stud shooter and a trans-green crystal representing a piece of Kryptonite. Build For the build, there is only one build which is Superman’s Mech. The mech uses a similar formula...

We here at BrickNerd are always looking to highlight the wonderful work of talented AFOLs across the LEGO community. We had the opportunity to speak to Centuri Chan or Knee Deep in Bricks and his wife Wendy Graham about their MOC “It’s Always Tea Time” based on Alice in Wonderland. Grab some tea, sit back, and hear how this stellar MOC came to be! Getting into LEGO Ann: It’s wonderful to meet you both! Please tell us a bit about yourselves and how you got into LEGO. Centuri: I am from Christchurch, New Zealand. I’ve been into LEGO since I was a youngster. I grew up playing with Classic Space and Castle. I started building MOCs about 15 years ago. One highlight as an AFOL was the opportunity to work with Ryan McNaught and his team on the Brickman - Wonders of the World Exhibition in 2016. I certainly learned a few...

In May of 2021, a group of four builders self-described as “Star Wars nerds and AFOLs” got together and started planning a rather crazy idea: to build a giant Tatooine display. For those unfamiliar with Star Wars, Tatooine is a prominent planet in the universe with a fairly large amount of sand. And most notably, a now iconic cantina with one of the best bands in the galaxy. I was fortunate enough to chat with the guys behind this massive build. Join me as we dive a little deeper into their journey and how this collab came to enter our galaxy. The Crew and History of CB Blue Harvest Andreas: Thank you for taking the time to chat about this amazing build! First off, how did you guys come up with this idea? Anders Horvath: The idea was born as we were driving home from a sorting event in the spring...

The LEGO DC line returns again in 2025 and the first set in the wave we’re going to check out is the Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker (76303). The set has 429 pieces and retails for $59.99. The last iteration of the Tumbler was back in 2021 when LEGO released a minifigure scale one and a UCS-scale version. Minifigures There are only three minifigures in the set, Batman, the Joker, and Two-Face. Batman is almost the same one as from the 76239 version with the torso being highly detailed with the subtle change on the belt buckle. The legs here are just plain ones. LEGO has opted to go with the rubber cape in this set which may be a problem later on when Batman gets in the Tumbler. The cowl used here is the dual-molded one with the shorter ears. His accessory is the usual Batarang. The Heath...
