A few months ago, I exhibited a sizeable LEGO train layout built entirely from MILS modules placed on venue-provided tables. No doubt, the phrase “venue-provided tables” will already conjure up a range of uncomfortable memories for those of you familiar with setting up large LEGO creations (not just train layouts) that span one or more tables! Venue tables range in both quality and vintage, from elderly specimens made from de-laminating warped plywood to more modern sagging injection molded plastic. No matter their provenance, we can always assume that these tables will neither be flat nor consistent! And nowhere is this phenomenon more apparent than at the joint between adjacent tables. I am sure many of you are familiar with the trial-and-error process of endlessly shimming the legs of tables not only to achieve flatness but also to correct the inevitable difference in vertical height between adjacent tables. German retailer JB Spielwaren has revealed a new LEGO Technic 2025 set with the Ducati Panigale V4 S (42202). The set has 1,603 pieces and will retail for €169.99 which is pretty much the same in USD. The set is in similar scale as with some of the other Technic motorbikes like the Ducati Panigale V4 R (42107), BMW M 1000 RR (42130) and Yamaha MT-10 SP (42159). The main promotion for this year’s LEGO Insiders Weekend shopping event is the Retro Record Player (40699). The set has 310 pieces and requires a purchase of $250 or more on the LEGO Shop to get it. The build is spread out through four bags along with a bag for the clear panels. Speaking of the panels, they are used for the glass cover to protect to record player. The glass is on hinges and you can prop it up using the bar on the right side. The left side of the record player has the power button which you can push to turn on and off. On the other side, you have the volume knob as well as a slider to change the speed of the record. The needle bar is secured by an antenna and can turn to scratch the record. Yet another LEGO Ideas project that had reached the 10,000 supporter mark has been removed from the Review Stage and this time it is Mr. Brick Coffee Pot. Designed by RainbowToTT, the build resembles the very recognizable Mr. Coffee coffee maker. The project page has been completely removed and there will be no mentioning of it ever again, as with previous projects that have also been removed. We’ll only know the reasoning for it being removed if the designer comes out and posts something about it, unless they’re on a NDA.
