This has never happened before. I'm at an event, I see an amazing creation, I meet the builder, and during the event itself, the builder publishes a picture and gives me the link. I've walked past this stunning and unique MOC of the mascot for Communidade 0937 several times and it captivates me every time. The entire interior structure of this is lightsaber blades, captured in a frame. For the display it's backlit too, making it even more magical. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy

On the sunny central coast of California we enjoy a fairly bug-free life. Sure, there are trillions of them, but they really don't bother us, few bite or sting, and most are so small they go unnoticed. So, I think if I saw one of these in real life I might have a mini heart attack, even if they are completely harmless. A brilliant MOC by Grant Davis. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy

The source of inspiration for a MOC can vary wildly. It can be from a favorite movie, a childhood memory, a cherished aspect of life or just your imagination. Sometimes it's as simple as seeing something and thinking "I can build that". That's the spark of inspiration that led to this outstanding mech from LEGO's own Lee Magpili. He saw an illustration by the very talented Ian Sta. Maria and thought just that, and the results speak for themselves. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy

There will be a new LEGO Scooby-Doo! original movie coming out on on Blu-Ray/DVD next month called LEGO Scooby-Doo!: Blowout Beach Bash. It doesn’t look like there will be an exclusive minifigure included like the previous movie (Haunted Hollywood) but the Blu-Ray itself contains some of the original Scooby-Doo cartoon episodes including Go Away Ghost Ship, A Clue for Scooby-Doo, and Party Like It’s 1899. The movie will be available starting July 25. Scooby-Doo! and his pals Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy are no strangers to solving spooky mysteries filled with all types of ghouls and goblins. This time is no different. As Scooby-Doo! and his friends are on their way to Blowout Beach for a real swinging beach party in the Mystery Machine, the Ghost Pirates threaten to ruin the gang’s good vibes. It is up to Scooby and the gang to get the party back on track, without missing...

Jigsawjo continues to amaze with this clever vignette, aptly titled Christiansen Park. The most striking thing here is of course the rubber band trees and bushes which look surprisingly realistic - a very NPU style that I expect to see often in the future. I could imagine a much larger park inside of a microscale layout still looking great in this style. Original linkOriginal author: Kodiak Sanders

Continuing with my reviews of the summer 2017 wave of The LEGO Batman Movie sets, the next set I’ll be reviewing is the smallest set in the wave, Scarecrow Fearful Face-off (70913). It consists of 141 pieces and retails for $14.99. Minifigures There are two minifigures in this set, Batman and the Scarecrow. Unsurprisingly, Batman makes another appearance in a TLBM set. This version of him uses the older torso which has printing of the yellow utility belt. This also means that we don’t get the new molded belt that the newer Batman minifigures have. One other change for this minifigure is that it does not have the usual soft cape but instead opts for a jetpack which is a simple wing mold with some thrusters on the sides with flames coming out of them. He has a double-sided head with a confident smile on one side and an angry look...

Simon NH takes a break from showing us techniques, and instead reveals an entry for the Summer Joust medieval building challenge hosted over on Fickr. This medieval church is truly well done, incorporating an interesting choice of colors for the stonework. Though the church has a clean appearance, it still seems to appear as if it were standing on this hill for easily 100 years. You truly must zoom in to fully appreciate this building, so that you can find all sorts of hidden NPU examples, like the use of the standard row boats. Very well done, Simon! Looking forward to possibly some more medieval buildings from you soon. Original linkOriginal author: Nathaniel Stoner

Tiny, little buffalos roaming a prairie. Another wonderfully creative model from Grantmasters, with a rather unique parts usage that adds just the right amount of texturing and shaping to these animals. What's even more impressive is the fact that he was able to get the shaping and include the horns for these beasts, not an easy task for this miniature style. However, thanks to Chima, he was able to accomplish this task! Original linkOriginal author: Nathaniel Stoner

There's nothing Mr. Mechtorian enjoys more than a large social gathering, and BrickWorld Chicago is the perfect place. After all, that snake oil isn't going to sell itself. This wonderfully whimsical MOC by builder Ted Andes combines the style of steampunk with the shenanigans of a shyster.  Original linkOriginal author: Tommy

Builder dvdliu proposes an interesting scenario. What if two lunar explorers were to meet up for a friendly vehicle exchange? We have a classic Apollo type lunar rover, and a very retro spaceship, personally speaking I think the ship is probably more fun, but I'd have a blast taking either for a spin.
