Wow, BrickNerd officially turns four years old today, I can't believe it. When I started I didn't know what I was doing, and nothing has changed, so it's been quite the adventure. If you had told me that I would blog somewhere around 1445 days and upload 135 videos, I would have have been skeptical. If you would have told me that Nerdly would become an internationally known mascot, I would have snickered. If you would have said that I would be recognized at events even on the other side of the world, I would have scoffed. I could not have predicted the many adventures me and Nerdly would go on, from simple trips to Disneyland to traveling to Portugal, I continue to be amazed and humbled by the doors that have been opened, and all the wonderful things I would not have believed were going to happen. But it's all true, and...

Whenever I'm feeling slightly overworked, I like to remind myself that my hands are soft, my skin isn't leathery and my muscles don't ache. In other words, I don't work very hard. Take this guy for instance, his job is to cut stone, to CUT STONE. Yes, he takes large rocks, and makes them smaller, easier to use rocks. Now that's work. Speaking of work, a ton of effort went into this lovely diorama by builder Cozei. From the huge and beautiful tree, to the charming round house, there's lots to love. This may be an odd tangent, but would't this make an nifty Airbnb? I've stayed at several over the years, most pretty normal, a couple unorthodox (an RV in someone's back yard?) but nothing even close to this interesting. "Do you wanna know...how I got these scars?" Yeeees! Heath Ledger's Joker is incredibly unnerving and crazy...which is why he is my favorite cinematic version of the Joker we have yet to see. Ledger's role will be incredibly tough to beat. J.B.F. was commissioned to build this incredibly character version of this Joker, and I must say I'm jealous that this is going to someone else! A very popular knight is returning home, to his wonderfully crafted village built by Guy Smiley. We love seeing beautiful and complete LEGO scenes here at BrickNerd, and this scene fits that category. This scene seems to show so much, yet little at the same time. It's very nicely designed and captured by the builder. It also showcases simple techniques to create realistic medieval structures and details. Nicely done! An appropriate time for a recreation of a lunar module, done by Sad Brick. I think what I love about this overall scene is the terrain. It's not just studs, or SNOT bricks. Using 1x1 round tiles adds such a nice texture. The module itself is also wonderfully done, and stands out amongst other models I have seen. Quite a nice view in this photo! Brickworld 2017!  This year, the VLUG crew conspired to produce a LEGO version of the hit TV series Game of Thrones, or, as we call it, Brick of Thrones.  I was informed that there are also books.  Anyway, the basic inspiration for the collaboration came from the map of Westeros, featured during the introduction to each episode.  As you scroll through the pictures, you'll see various landmarks, characters, and even the famous Battle of Blackwater Bay.  From the Red Keep, to Castle Black, to white walkers, there's a lot to enjoy for fans of the show, and even for those who've never seen it.  And no, for the umpteenth time, that's not Elsa. LEGO has issued a new press release regarding The LEGO Ninjago Movie and there’s details on a new set that will be coming this December. The set is called garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! which is a play on Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (70816) from The LEGO Movie. There’s no images of the set yet but it’ll look similar to the shark mech from the trailer.
