Four years ago, we brought BrickNerd back to life with a mission to celebrate the creativity of the LEGO community, share the stories of both builders and builds, and provide a place to really get nerdy about the bricks. Every year since then, we’ve been amazed by the positive reception to all of our hard work and how much we’ve been able to accomplish together. Winter is in full swing and the holiday season is transitioning into saying goodbye to 2024. We hope you all had a wonderful time with your loved ones! Here at BrickNerd, we looked at a collaborative Christmas project and a motorized underwater layout, learned about LEGO and Formula One and upgraded our LEGO photography setup. We looked at wacky LEGO packaging, made memories with LEGO poinsettias and published instructions for a LEGO gift box as well as a gift guide for (Non-)LEGO tools. The Marvel logo is one of the most recognizable things in print and films and LEGO will be releasing a brick-built version of the Marvel Logo (76313) in January. The set has 931 pieces and retails for $99.99. Minifigures Included in the set are five of the main Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Hulk. The only noticeable omission is Hawkeye. Iron Man has an update Mark VI armor which has some nice shading on the front and back of the torso. The legs have been used before and it has some pearl-gold and silver printing. The double-sided head is the usual one with the smile on one side and the HUD on the other. One of my most beloved annual LEGO themes remains the Winter Village series. As we head into fall every year, we eagerly await the announcement of that year’s release. The new Santa’s Post Office (10339) for 2024 and the accompanying set Santa’s Delivery Truck (40746) are welcome additions to that long tradition since 2009. It brings the theme back to the North Pole, which are my favorite Winter Village sets. And it brings a whimsical approach to an otherwise mundane concept of a post office.
