“Hi everyone! Welcome to my first YouTube video! My name is Caleb Adams, I'm 18 years old, and just graduated from the Kentucky School for the Blind! I've always wanted a YouTube Channel but my mom made me wait until I was 18 and had graduated high school. I hope you learn a little bit about me and that you'll stick around for future videos.” – Caleb Adams, July 2nd, 2023. If you are regular reader of BrickNerd, then it is likely that you have a passion for building with LEGO, either sets or your own creations. Now imagine also living with a genetic disorder that has been degrading your vision since birth, with the potential for becoming completely blind by the time you reach 20 years old. What would you choose to build with your limited time? How would you adapt? “My name is Caleb Adams.” Caleb Adams is a...

Normally, I fill these pages with nerdy and hopefully useful topics related to LEGO trains. However, as I sat down to consider my next article, I was overcome with the usual anxiety of looming deadlines, jet lag, and was bereft of inspiration. But, it struck me that the reason for my predicament was in fact a good article candidate! That is, I spend so much time and energy building and growing Fx Bricks—why not explore a snapshot of my Fx Bricks life behind the scenes? As a disclaimer, this article is not intended to be a sponsored marketing spot for Fx Bricks. Everything stated here are my opinions, observations, and experience and are not representative of Fx Bricks. For those of you who are not aware of Fx Bricks, we are a small business based in Canada and Hong Kong. We design and manufacture products for the LEGO fan community such...

Today is the last day to get your orders in for the LEGO Double Insiders points shopping event. As of this post, there is only about 13.5 hours left to get double points on all your purchases. This will probably be your last chance to earn extra points as I don’t see LEGO doing it in July and if we’re gauging past promotions, we may see it again in August. As a Rakuten/Linkshare Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases. The post Last Day for LEGO Double Insiders Points – June 2025 appeared first on The Brick Fan. Today’s guest article comes from Richard Dryden, a builder who has competed on LEGO Masters and helped create the Awesome Black Creativity project. How Basketball Can Save the World “Dutch Sociologist Johan Huizinga published his seminal work Homo Ludens, explaining that play has always been a safe, sublime, and necessary space for us to find relief from the difficulty of the human condition. Play, as illuminated by Huizinga, delivers a free voluntary experience, disinterested in material gain and separate from the sprawling incomprehensibility of life. Play gives order to that incomprehensibility with clear rules and limits on time, locality, and duration where we can live out real human vices and virtues - teamwork, sacrifice, cooperation, selfishness, risk, courage, cowardice, grace under pressure, winning, losing - without the real-life consequences of life and death, profit and loss. Play, according to Huizinga, is freedom itself. What better human sanctuary has ever evolved than...

As of a few hours ago, the LEGO Tribute to Jane Austen’s Books (40766) has sold out on the LEGO Shop. The gift with purchase set was originally planned to run until Friday, June 27 but it only lasted for about three and a half days. You can still probably find it available at your nearest LEGO Brand Store but you should double check if they still have it. We do still have double Insiders points which will run only until tomorrow night so there isn’t that much time left for that promo. Amazon has further reduced the price on the LEGO Animal Crossing K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza (77052) and it has now been discounted by 56%. Last week it was at 38% off so it seems that Amazon is trying to get rid of their inventory. The set is now priced at $34.82 which saves you $45 on it. If you purchased it last week, you can check with Amazon customer service to see if they can get you a refund of the difference since it’s been a very short time between the discounts.
