I think I forgot to do last month but I’m back with the September 2018 recap. There was a bunch of LEGO news this month and here are some posts that you might have missed. LEGO October 2018 Store Calendar Promotions & Events – The October 2018 LEGO calendar was released and the main promotions for the month are the LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Mudtrooper (40300) and the Minifigure Collector Frame. LEGO Seasonal 2018 Christmas Carousel (40293) Revealed – An exclusive 2018 LEGO Christmas set was revealed with the limited edition Christmas Carousel (40293). There’s no word yet on availability at this time but I’ll let you know when we get some details. LEGO Minifigure Evolution Throughout the Years – LEGO sent over a bunch of assets to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure and we got to see how the minifigure has changed throughout the years....

If you’ve been looking for the Target exclusive LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358), I’m happy to report that the set is now widely available at Target stores. If for whatever reason you still can’t find it, check Brickseek to see if it is actually in stock. The DPCI# is 204-00-0606 and the set costs $19.99 but if you have a REDcard, you can take off 5%. It is not available online at this time and I’m not sure if it will be or not. I’ve already done a review of the set if you want to check it out. I’m going to stop you right here, and tell you to watch the video below before continuing to read, I’ll wait… I spend pretty much every morning, 365 days a year give or take, blogging LEGO creations. I can tell you that an audible reaction from me is pretty rare, but this brilliant little MOC by builder Inthert made me exclaim out loud “holy sh*t!” I’m a Harry Potter fan, and a LEGO fan of course, and I have a soft spot for micro builds and mechanical ingenuity. Behold your doom, Thunderbolt! This latest by Moko pretty much blows my mind. He’s calling it a Bionicle MOC, but this transcends that class as far as I’m concerned. It’s got the prefect mix of System and Technic blended in, as well as some Power Functions for lighting (and exposed wiring that just adds to the aesthetic). Way back in May, we got our first look at the new 2018 LEGO Brand Store (40305) and we’ve been wondering when it will be available here in the United States. I’ve gotten word that the set will be a regular set and it was sold as early as this week at a LEGO Brand Store in the US. I can assure you that this is true as it comes from one of my good sources. The images have been up on LEGO’s servers so it will be available on Shop@Home pretty soon. The set has already been available for a few months in Germany and France. Let us know in the comments if you’ve seen this set at your local LEGO Brand Store. I’ve got to admit, I’m a sucker for NASA’s rockets and I can spend hour gawking at the marvels of human engineering. But NASA ain’t got nothin’ on this ship by halfbeak! With a ton of black, a handful of green, a dash of realism and a pinch of antimatter, what’s not to like? Not to mention a hint of nefarious criminal activity by NASA’s evil twin, NAST (pronounced nasty). Put simply, if NASA were Futuron, NAST would be the Blacktron of space exploration. It has been just over a day since LEGO announced their new adult-centered theme, LEGO FORMA, and it looks like there’s quite a bit of interest for it. Their initial perk goal of 500 has been surpassed five times over and as of this writing, it sits at 2,590 perks claimed in total. The US Super Box option has already had one-third of the inventory claimed out of the 3,000 available. The UK Super Box option is already 40% claimed out of the 1,000 available in that region with still about a month left in the crowdfunding project. The Super Box options save you a little bit money compared to just buying the base Koi set and the additional skins separately but there’s still quite a bit of inventory for those options. I’ve pre-order the LEGO FORMA Super Box so I’m quite excited to see how it looks and feels in...

Thinking back to all the schools I attended (we moved around a bit, I went to many) absolutely none of them were anywhere even remotely as cool as Hogwarts. I mean not by a long shot. And while is only though the words of JK Rowling and the production design of the films that we get to imagine what it would have been like, they have been so well done that they feel distant but real. I know I was on vacation last week (Disney cruise, it was awesome) but I came back to a delivery push on a film gig and have worked crazy hours this week, so I find myself in need of another vacation. This place looks so tranquil and inviting, I think I’d like to go there. Just imagine it, arriving by air boat to dwell among the clouds, sounds like a dream. How about it qi_tah, can I visit? Just last Sunday I spent most of the day aboard a train. Of course it was a modern Amtrak train, but I did spend a moment thinking about the heyday of locomotive transportation, imagining myself crossing the country in the 1800’s. While I can’t speak with much authority on trains (what can I say, I just don’t know much about them), I can say I like the looks of this one by builder holgermatthes. And if you do too there’s great news, Holger has shared the instructions so you can build your own!
