LEGO has announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas 50 Years of Dungeons & Dragons cover art contest. Back in May, LEGO chose three finalists in which their design will be on the cover of the building instructions for the upcoming set. After months of deliberation, the winner is the Epic Battle Relief Painting by chainsaw yu 電鋸鋸鋸鋸. I may be late to this but if you’re looking for the LEGO DC Batman 1992 (30653), you may want to check your Walmart stores. After weeks looking for it, it was finally put on shelves recently at my store here in San Diego. I’ve also heard that it has started to show up at other stores across the US as well. It has 40 pieces and retails for $4.97. This Batman minifigure is the exact same one as in the Batman Batcave – Shadow Box (76252). Update: I looked at my receipt on the Walmart app and it links to this page which I believe is the landing page for it. Marine Life 2 by Brick Dangerous is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is a slightly updated version of the previous project that didn’t pass the review stage. Pepper’s Ghost is an illusion technique for making spectral images appear on stage and screen. It was popularized by John Henry Pepper in 1862 (Pepper's Ghost). The illusion works by creating a reflection on a clear surface. The clear surface allows for physical objects and actors to appear to interact (or not) with the ghostly image. The key elements of creating the illusion are as follows: Having a secret chamber out of the viewer’s line of sight. The aforementioned clear reflecting medium that the viewer can’t see. And the ability to illuminate and darken the secret chamber. Back in January, Square Enix announced a LEGO contest to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII to see which location you wanted to see as a LEGO set. The four choices included Aerith’s House, Honeybee Inn, Sector 5 Slums Church, and Water Tower Nibelheim. Square Enix a few days ago has announced the winner of the contest and the Final Fantasy VII scene that will be a LEGO set is the Sector 5 Slums Church.
