My favorite ride at LEGOLAND California is The Dragon roller coaster. The coaster is one of the standard LEGOLAND rides, appearing in all ten parks. The roller coaster itself is reasonably exciting (for a park designed for younger children), but the coaster part is not the main attraction. The best part of the ride is seeing all the LEGO models depicting scenes within the castle. But the ride takes you through the castle at such a brisk pace that it’s hard to take everything in. If you blink, you’ll surely miss some of the great models! Our family would often ride twice, and I would decide to “look to the left” this time and “look to the right” the next time just to get fleeting glances at the impressive LEGO builds on display in the dark portion of the ride. LEGO has officially revealed the second LEGO Transformers set with everyone’s favorite yellow car, Bumblebee (10338). Releasing on July 1, the set has 950 pieces and will retail for $89.99. Bumblebee joins Optimus Prime which was released last year back in 2022 and like his predecessor, he can transform into vehicle mode. LEGO has designed it so that Bumblebee scales with Optimus. I will admit it… when I was encouraged to join a LEGO minifigure habitat challenge early in my MOC-building journey as BrickBuiltJosh, I was not so sure about these small 8x8 square corner builds. They seemed small, constrictive, boxy, and like… everything had to be some corner of a room! Since then, I’ve built 35 habitats over the last few years, joined several habitat challenges, and found inspiration to break the mold and find new ways to get creative with the format.
