Builder Rat Dude has definite ideas about life after the apocalypse, and I have to admit they’re pretty cool. This is The Last Paradise, comprised of modified and specific use cargo containers lumbering along on giant treads. There’s an equipment container, a cool container, a machine container, a storage container, a bum container (whatever that is), and three container devoted to living space. There’s a million reasons builders take a break. And I get it, sometimes you don’t have time, life gets in the way, you’re just a little burned out, or whatever. And when I don’t see much from a prolific builder I assume they have their reasons. But having a stroke is quite possibly one of the worst reasons, as is the case of one of my favorite builders redfern1950s2. I’m very happy to report that Red is doing ok, and making a speedy recovery, and even built this charming little MOC as a gift to the caregivers at the ward. Wishing you a speedy recovery Red! Last month, Universal announced their plans for the Jurassic World franchise which included an animated LEGO Jurassic World short and today we have details of it and it is called LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. It is a two-part special that will be a prequel to the 2015 Jurassic World and it will be airing on NBC November 29 at 8pm EST/PST. It will also be streamable the next morning on NBC.com. There will also be a DVD with exclusive content that will be coming out on January 15, 2019. Today LEGO celebrates an amazing ten years of LEGO Ideas as a crowdsourcing platform for fans. It all started back in 2008 as LEGO CUUSOO during the beta phase and it eventually changed to LEGO Ideas which we now have today. The first set made for CUUSOO was the Shinkai 6500 Submarine (21100) and the first one under the LEGO Ideas name was the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Barnes & Noble has officially announced the details of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts event on November 17. On that day starting at 2pm local time, there will be activities held including building a themed LEGO set but the thing that people have been waiting for was the details of the LEGO Harry Potter Bricktober 2018 (5005254) set. The term NPU gets thrown around a lot (for those new here it stands for “Nice Part Use”) but I think it’s deserved here. The towers of this clever little castle are pip shooters, which pack a lot of detail into a small space. Although Battlefront II was not the most acclaimed game of 2017 and has caused many to go to the dark side with their hatred towards EA (Master Yoda warned us!), it is one of the most visually stunning games I have ever seen, and the same can be said about this MOC by First Order Lego. The chaos and scale do justice to the game and the textures make it hard for me to take my eyes off this diorama.
