If you’re a LEGO VIP member, you may have received an email this morning regarding some new changes coming to the VIP program in a few months. As I reported on earlier in the month, LEGO will be implementing the digitial VIP card very soon but for those who want the physical card can still get one. I suggest doing that in case they do away with it in the future. VIP accounts has to be registered online with an email address. As a VIP member, we already have a lot of benefits including various promotional gifts, double point events, and early access to product launches that we get throughout the year and it looks like we’ll be getting even more on top of that. In the email, they said there will be an online rewards center that will be launching to introduce a new way to spend your VIP points....

It was only last week that LEGO announced the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024) and they will be available starting on May 1. Some of our fellow European RLFM outlets have started receiving their review copies and we now have some new details of the set. As far as the distribution of the minifigures, there are reported to be two complete sets per box and there will be some rarity in some of the minifigures. Three of them (Huey, Dewie, Louie) will only have two per box which is somewhat disappointing but at least there aren’t any that only one per box like with the Harry Potter series. Digging holes sucks, just ask anyone who digs holes. And wherever there’s a job that sucks there’s a need for a robot to do that job for us. Luckily there’s DB-Y3, or “Drillbilly” by builder roΙΙi. Drillbilly can not only take care of those needed holes in the ground, he can do so with a wide range of emotions, and anyone who has dug holes will confirm, there’s a spectrum. LEGO Tower was announced for mobile platforms a few days ago which is a game similar to Tiny Towers. One of the details in the game is that there are a wide variety of floors and LEGO is giving you a chance for your own design to be in the game. LEGO Ideas has kicked off a new contest for you to submit your entries to wins some great prizes. In addition to having your floor design be in LEGO Towers when it launches this summer, six winners will also get the LEGO Creator Corner Garage (10264), LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313), a $200 shopping spree, as well as a special unlock feature in the game. Have very few regrets in life, but one of them is not getting to see a shuttle launch with my dad. Not that it was an easy thing to do, I live about as far away from Cape Kennedy as you can in the continental US, and my dad lived in Kansas. Any given mission could be scrubbed at the last minute, that’s a long way to travel on a bet. I did eventually get to stand in the shadow of this building, and it’s every bit as impressive as you’d expect. It’s on a scale that’s hard to imagine until you’re actually there. This version by Rphilo004, is a little less intimidating, but still very impressive at micro scale. I have to admit once I got over the temporary paralysis upon first seeing this beauty by ianying616 I thought to myself “Batman would never ride a chrome Batpod”, but upon further thought I’m not so sure. The thing about chrome (and what makes it hard to illustrate, and render for that matter) is it’s not really its own color, but characterized by its environment. I continue to be fascinated with builder Moko’s ability to not only make sleek and shapely figures, but to make them so posable. This one doesn’t seem to be based on any particular character, not that I would have any idea who it is anyway, but at least I don’t have to try and learn a bunch of stuff to share with you that I will immediately forget. Art is what you make it, so it’s different for every person. I like this piece by builder jarekwally because of it’s dynamic nature, capturing motion beautifully and it’s simple coloration, stark and contrasty.
