LEGO has announced that the Sonic Mania – Green Hill Zone project by toastergrl has been approved by LEGO Ideas and will become an official set. It was held over from the First 2020 Review Results for further evaluation and will now go into the product development phase. LEGO Japan has posted a teaser of the upcoming spring 2021 wave of LEGO Monkie Kid sets. We already know about one of them with the Monkie Kid’s Team Dronecopter (80023) and there are some set names for a few of them with Red Son’s Inferno Jet (80019), White Dragon Horse Jet (80020), and Spider Queen’s Arachnoid Base (80021) but we don’t know what they look like at this time. LEGO has released the results from the first round of voting for the 90th Anniversary Fan Vote on LEGO Ideas. The LEGO themes that will move on to the final vote include Bionicle, Classic Space, and Pirates. LEGO has also acknowledged that splitting the vote on the various Castle themes was a bad move on their part and they have added Castle to the final round of voting which has now started. There are some new LEGO sets that have been rotated in for the double VIP points for the month of February 2021. First is the LEGO Technic Off-Road Buggy (42124) and you can get 1,690 points for it. In a sponsored Facebook ad from South African LEGO Certified Store, Yellow Brick Company, we got our first look at the LEGO Amelia Earhart Tribute (40450) set. It features the red Lockheed 5B Vega which she used to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. The ad shows that you have to spend R2500 or more on any LEGO product to get it. There’s no word yet on when it will be available here in the US. LEGO has uploaded product listings for some new LEGO Disney Brick Sketeches for Mickey Mouse (40456) and Minnie Mouse (40457). Both sets will retail for $16.99 which is the new adjusted price for the Brick Sketeches and will be available starting on March 1.
