Available starting on October 3 at Spiel Essen and select retailers around the world, Monkey Palace is a jungle-themed game of light strategy for two to four players that incorporates both collaborative and competitive elements. Welcome back to our tenth LEGO Quick Build! For this one, we are going all-in on superheroes. I like to browse different artworks for inspiration, and I have a few artists to whom I often come back. One of them is Derek Laufman. He has a comic style that I really enjoy and his Chibi characters inspired this build. I built four superheroes in this style, but Batman turned out the cutest with his little gargoyle friend, so I made instructions for it (not unlike this Batman polybag, but cuter!). Constructive criticism within the LEGO community can be hard to give and take, especially between two people of vastly different skill levels. I’d like to share some thoughts that I used recently when my soon-to-be TFOL and I collaborated on a project for a LUG display. He’s a decent builder for his age but has difficulties with the revision processes. I was not at all sure how it would go—we have similar personalities and interests, which can lead to a good time or a lot of head-butting. “Let’s Play a Game” Display, Featuring CLUE, Warhamer 40K, D&D, Chess, Settlers for catan, jenga, and Mobile Frame Zero. We’ve finally got the review sets for 2024 LEGO Marvel and the first one we’ll be checking out is the Motorcycle Chase: Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock (76275). The set has 77 pieces and retails for $9.99. Minifigures There’s only two minifigures in the set, Spider-Man and Venom Doc Ock. There’s nothing unique with Spider-Man as he’s the same one that has been used before with the red and blue outfit. There’s also printing on the arms as well. His accessories are some web Power Blast pieces. Venom Doc Ock is loosely based on the Poison Doctor Octopus from the Venomverse storyline. He’s mostly in a dark green outfit but the left side of the torso shows the Venom symbiote has taken it over. There’s a new rumor that we could finally be getting a LEGO Legend of Zelda set with the Great Deku Tree (77092). Word has it that it’ll be released in September and it has 2,500 pieces. If you’re not familiar with the Great Deku Tree, it was first introduced in Ocarina of Time, then later appears in The Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom and is the guardian of the Kokiri. The rumor also suggests that there will be a few characters from Hyrule including Link with his Hylian Shield. The pricing is still unknown at this time but I expect it to be around $300+ given the piece count and licensing costs.
