If you’ve been on LEGO Pick a Brick the past week or so, you may have been disappointed to see that they have paused Standard Service for North America. First noticed by New Elementary, there are thousands of elements that cannot be purchased anymore except for the Bestsellers and LEGO has put up a banner notice. As of this post there are only 1,535 elements available for purchase with 1,455 of them in the Bestsellers list. LEGO’s Standard Service ships out of Billund, Denmark while the Bestsellers are shipped from Illinois. There’s no official statement on why LEGO paused Standard Service but we can assume it is the result of the removal of the De Minimis exemption which started yesterday. LEGO has officially revealed the next LEGO Ideas set coming soon with Gremlins: Gizmo (21361). Releasing on October 1 (pre-order today), the set has 1,125 pieces and will retail for $109.99. Gizmo was one of the winners in the LEGO Ideas If We Can Turn Back Time building contest last April. The set features a brick-built model of the little Mogwai that can be displayed either standing or sitting. The head can also rotate while the ears, arms, hands, and fingers have articulation. Gizmo also comes with a pair of brick-built 3D glasses and a water splash piece for some foreshadowing of what’s to come when he gets wet. LEGO has announced an upcoming LEGO Star Wars livestream for a new mystery set on September 4 at 9:15am ET/6:15 PT. The only hint that is given is that it is for something BIG. There’s nothing else Star Wars rumored for 2025 except for the usual suspect and if you’ve been online the past few weeks, you probably know what it is.
