It’s been a few days since our last LEGO Ideas update and a few projects have reached the Third 2025 Review Stage.. The builds feature subject matters that we’ve seen many times before and we have have a newcomer to the 10,000 supporter club. Let me introduce you to Thomas S. Tank, or maybe Sherman T. Tanker (Apologies to MASH). Either way, Caleb Flutur has produced a mash-up I never knew I needed! Caleb has crossed Thomas the Tank Engine with the US Sherman Tank from WWII. Excellent shaping and color blocking really sell the combination. When I first saw it, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t run across a tank/Thomas and Friends paring before! I could go on about the philosophical musings about this mash-up and the world of Thomas the Tank Engine in general, but Caleb had a lot to say that I’m pretty sure you will find much more interesting! Michael: Hey Caleb, we featured your Pick-A-Brick cup blender in our LEGO Dark Arts: Incorporating LEGO Packaging Into Your MOCs, Part 2 round-up earlier this year but, this is the first spotlight we've done on you. Would you mind sharing a little bit about yourself? Caleb: My...

I love Gundam. Just like LEGO, these Japanese giant robots have a hardcore fanbase. It has a rich history of animated series and movies, mangas and of course the most important one, Gunpla (the plastic toys showcasing all the amazing robot creations). I love building those mobile suits myself—it’s relaxing and a very satisfying process, just like building LEGO sets. So obviously, combining Gundam and LEGO can result in fantastic MOCs, just like the Barbatos made by Ransom Fern. The Barbatos, from the Iron Blooded Orphans series, stands out among the classic Gundams because it is sleeker and has an animalistic vibe to it with its claws and angular features. It has those classic colors too—white, red, blue and yellow. Despite standing out, the series and the Gundam itself are quite popular. So I get that Ransom Fern liked the idea of creating a LEGO version. And he has done a...

LEGO’s latest newsletter is giving away a free LEGO Ninjago Micro set to LEGO Insiders. Attached to the newsletter is a code to use at checkout to get a free set at random. I guess there was not too much demand on the Micro Ninjago City sets combined with the high original points requirement of 2,500. The price was then dropped down to 1,800 and they also offered a bundle for all four sets which is even cheaper at 5,000 points total.
