It’s been a while since our last LEGO Ideas update and it’s been busy over there as nine more projects have reached the First 2026 Review Stage. There’s been a little bit of everything that fans have voted for. One interesting note is that we have one fan designer that has multiple projects in one round which is pretty rare. We’ve seen designers in different stages but we don’t see much of the same designer with multiple projects in one stage. A new month is here, which means more competitive building! February may be the shortest month of the year, but it packs a punch—whether you’re building a heartfelt habitat for Valentine’s Day or going for an interplanetary roll with FebRovery. Here’s the latest lineup of LEGO contests and challenges from across the AFOL community for February 2026 to spark your inspiration. There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to nudge you out of your comfort zone and push you to experiment building in ways you might not otherwise attempt. We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time wisely—especially in a month that always seems to fly by. Be sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Some of our fondest memories, proudest builds, coolest trophies, and strongest friendships started with a contest entry, so we hope you’ll...

A few weeks ago, LEGO put out a teaser of the LEGO House 2026 exclusive set which was basically a pile of LEGO bricks. Today, they released another teaser showing the reactions of some of the LEGO House employees. We still don’t know what it is but we do know is that there are hidden Easter eggs throughout the set. It seems that the official reveal of the set is imminent so stay tuned. Jack Stone is a theme known by many but loved by few. It was one of the earliest LEGO themes which introduced specialized elements intended to keep construction simple for very young children, including an oversized figure of the titular character. But the theme has a bad reputation among AFOLs for littering bulk used brick with large and difficult-to-use pieces, often ones that could be constructed similarly with smaller parts. The part we are examining today, Cockpit 6 x 6 x 5 with Hinge (part 30619), is no exception. Its large size and unusual features reveal a surprising amount about the difficulties of injection molding plastic bricks. Elemental History At first glance, it may seem that the cockpit element is rather limiting—something you would throw into a bin of big, bulky parts never to be seen again. It came in five colors and was intended to be combined with several complementary...

The other LEGO Chinese Festival 2026 set that we want to check out before the Chinese/Lunar New Year is the Galloping Horse Canvas (80119). The set has 1,650 pieces and retails for $109.99. Minifigures There are two minifigures in the set, a painter and a Year of the Horse costumed person. The painter is a little girl that has on a green outfit. Her double-sided head shows smiles on both sides. Her accessory is a brick-built brush. The Year of the Horse costume guy wears a traditional red outfit and he wears a horse head. His double-sided head shows him with a smile on one side and a smirk on the other. His accessory is an apple. Build The build is made to look like a painting in the background with four horses in the front. The canvas is made of a soft fabric showing four horses and a Chinese phrase...
