Well, ye best start believing in ghost stories, as the Black Pearl is back, bigger and bolder, as LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship. In addition to an awkward name change, the new Black Pearl (let’s agree that she’s still called that) is assembled from 2,862 pieces, up from 804 in her maiden voyage, adding detail, a larger scale, and a display stand.  At 25 inches in both length and height, the Black Pearl is comparable in scale to 71042 Silent Mary, the last big Pirates of the Caribbean set (and one of my “grail” sets that I kick myself for not getting back in the day). The anime film Suzume, written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, premiered in 2022, in the midst of the pandemic, and was a wonderful escape that won critical acclaim. So it is certainly not surprising that it has inspired LEGO builders around the world, like Jean-Philippe Leroux, who has recreated the image from the promotional poster in stunning detail. The weathered white door set in a broken brick wall serves as the central focus, while the round building with rib-like frames curving upward in the background perfectly captures the source material. LEGO’s latest Instagram post shows off some blueprints of the more recent LEGO Marvel busts including Iron Spider-Man (76326) and Iron Man MK4 (76327), however, there’s also what seems to be a teaser of another character. On the last slide, there’s a shadowy figure with two arms seemingly building something. The obvious guess is that it could be Doctor Octopus with his tentacles. Earlier this August, BrickCon.PH 2025 brought together LEGO fans from all over Metro Manila, Philippines for a weekend of displays, games, and cosplays. Organized by the Brick Traders Community (BTC), BrickCon.PH provided a venue for fans to display their creations and collections, and spend time together as a community. Add LEGO treasure hunting in the mix, and it was definitely time well spent for everyone who attended. Here’s a quick run-down on what I loved about the event along with some photos of the builds I saw. The Displays BTC is well known for its dedicated collectors, and they came in full force. A minifig wall showcased minifigures from a wide range of LEGO themes, including Disney, Star Wars, Minecraft, Nexo Knights, various series of Collectible Minifigures, and Ninjago. The new LEGO Wicked: For Good sets will be releasing on September 1 and we’re now starting our series of reviews of the sets starting with Glinda’s Wedding Day (75688). The set has 476 pieces and will retail for $39.99. Minidolls There are two minidolls in the set, Glinda and Madame Morrible. Glinda is in her white wedding dress that is static. There’s some metallic silver printing for the little glitter and butterflies. She does have two interchangeable heads, one for her somber look and the other for her shocked expression. Her hairpiece has a hole to attach the tiara on it. Madame Morrible wears a dark green dress with some turquoise tail printing on it. Her face printing is pretty standard with not too much emotion. Her hair is the curly white one that looks almost identical to the movie. Her accessory is a printed wedding invitation heart with G+F....
