As a child, there was a special excitement connected to the release of a new colour of Classic Space astronaut; so when Peter Reid persuaded LEGO to include green spacemen in his LEGO Ideas Exo-Suit set, my heart skipped a beat. These same minifigures have inspired Kloou to build an epic retro sci-fi styled control tower. Arguing that the green spacemen have been denied a full range of sets he thought it only fair to build this amazing base in suitable green livery.He’s done them proud, with the UFO tower sporting the traditional space symbol in 3D, some seriously cool radar arrays and multiple landing pads for a whole host of space scooters. This stunning Ninjago-themed block by Galaktek was part of The Brothers Brick’s recent Ninjago City collaborative display at BrickCon 2018 in Seattle. In fact, it was the winner of our award for best detail, and it is easy to see why. Look for our full wrap-up of the enormous display soon, but in the meantime, let’s take a closer look at this wonderful addition to the city. The pagoda alone is chock-full of gold elements paired with red. These two colors are repeated in the bridge at the back corner of the block. The rock work landscape along the base of the lower level provides the perfect foundation for the pagoda. Also, the lower level features a consistent sand green support for the upper level that continues the theme of attention to details. Blizzard Entertainment, the studio behind multiplayer first-person shooter game Overwatch, unveiled an exclusive, limited edition LEGO Omnic Bastion building set today, available for purchase online in the Blizzard Gear Store and later on-site at BlizzCon 2018 on November 2 and 3, 2018, in Anaheim, California. Bastion is a hero in Overwatch with two modes: Recon, and Sentry. The Omnic skin reflects the appearance of Bastion units during the Omnic Crisis, and is not the default tan and green skin Overwatch players begin with in game. Every October since 2009, Toys R Us sold exclusive LEGO sets, issued throughout the month. This year, in some parts of Asia where Toys R Us (TRU) stores are still open, the “Bricktober” offerings remain available, but due to TRU closing in the US, American LEGO collectors have been left wondering where these may show up instead. This particular set of four Harry Potter minifigures are available to our Stateside readers at Barnes and Noble. We got our hands on these from Toys R Us in Asia. Recently we featured Palixa and the Bricks’ brilliant BrickHeadz renditions of the cast of Futurama. This time around they’ve turned their hand to the Aardman Animations’ classic Shaun the Sheep. Once more they have created near perfect copies, ably translating the emblematic modelling clay characters into LEGO. From Bitzer the sheep dog’s buckteeth to Shaun’s studded fleece, each captures the unique charm and humour of the series.
