LEGO building is a remarkably diverse creative practice. Some builders dive into projects with playful abandon, improvising as they go. Others hesitate, plan endlessly, or feel crushed by the weight of their own expectations. Perfectionism isn’t universal, but for those who experience it, it can be deeply limiting. In this article I talk about my continued personal journey as a LEGO builder, my exploration of creativity and design, and the things I’ve learned on the way. More specifically; how I found myself locked by my own expectations and how I dealt with it.
