After only 10 minutes of conversation with Owen Jones, it’s clear that he loves two things in this world: LEGO and Mariners baseball. So he certainly wasn’t going to let an opportunity to fuse his two passions pass him by. To commemorate Seattle hosting this year’s MLB All-Star Game, Owen worked up a beautiful mosaic of the official logo. Featuring a very Pacific Northwest silhouette, the insignia is clad in Mariners colors of turquoise and dark blue. It’s such a clean representation that it feels like an official LEGO set. But Owen, with all his baseball nostalgia, didn’t stop there… He also brought back the 2001 All-Star game logo, from the last time the Mariners played host to the event. Clever LEGO builder Dan Ko graces the pages of The Brothers Brick once again and this time he drops MC Vespa. He’s got cool shoes, a radical haircut, and a face like a Vespa. No seriously, it is a Vespa! The part can be found in the Friends Heartlake City Bakery. Check out that doofus grin! This LEGO creation by Tino Poutiainen reminds me of those model kits of yore; The Visible Man, The Visible Woman, The Visible Horse, etcetera. They even had, I found out just now, a Visible Trout similar to this one that showcases all the squishy bits you’d rather not think about while enjoying some fish and chips. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Lyonsblood is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 350 piece build features the iconic caterpillar from the children’s book that I’m sure everybody has read before. The caterpillar is poseable and the project also includes the different fruit as well. In my next review of the LEGO DREAMZzz line, we take a look at Mateo and Z-Blob the Robot (71454). This set has 237 pieces and retails for $19.99. Minifigures There are two minifigures in the set, Mateo and Jayden. Mateo is the same minifigure that we’ve seen before with the same pencil spear and hourglass accessories. Jayden has on purple pajamas with unicorn printing on both sides of the torso. His double-sided head shows him wearing braces with a normal expression on one side and sleeping on the other. Build The first part of the build is for Jayden’s bed which is also a nightmare monster that has eyes and legs. The main part of the build is the the Z-Blob Robot.
