Ever wondered how LEGO’s nano-figs are made? Caleb Schilling has given us a sneak peek at their production line mid-manufacture. Bet you thought it was all ABS and injection-moulding, eh? Think again! Now I’m no expert, but I believe that inside this machine, there are tiny little gremlins (smaller even than nano-figs) armed with tridents, who carve these pieces out of coloured plastic. These tools of theirs are wonderfully versatile. You can see two of them sticking out the side, which when pulled presumably give the gremlins a poke, so they know which shift to be on. Some older ones also seem to have been re-purposed for the conveyor belt. How resourceful! It’s a wonder such production methods aren’t used elsewhere, really. (Hm? As we know from yesterday’s press release, LEGO has a scavenger hunt going on at San Diego Comic Con 2023 and we now know what the prizes are. There are clues hidden throughout the exhibit floor to find a LEGO Brickbuster Video VHS case and you can redeem the prizes at the booth. Andrew (akanei12) has kindly shared what he got from the scavenger hunt and it includes a LEGO Master (6385893) set as well as a gold/yellow keychain. LEGO has officially revealed two new LEGO BrickHeadz sets featuring characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The first one is Sonic the Hedgehog (40627) which has 139 pieces. The other is Miles “Tails” Prower (40628) and that one has 131 pieces. Both will be available on September 1 for $9.99 each.
