Let’s adventure like it’s 1998
If there’s one LEGO theme I wish I could’ve grown up with, it’s definitely Adventurers. I was only old enough to catch the tail end of it, when Johnny Thunder and co. went to the Himalayas. Thankfully, it’s a popular theme for reduxes, and Joeri Ridder is the latest builder to pay them a visit! This is of course an homage to 2879 Desert Expedition, a set that really had everything you could want to go adventuring. 20 years of new parts allows for some fun re-imaginings of the build techniques of the day, and I particularly like the sarcophagus here. The irony is that it’s such a labour of love, that in the time Joeri was working on this, yet more useful parts have been made available. So before long, we may see a redux of this redux!
