Quick Build #20: Snoopy’s Flying Doghouse
Today, we are building a tiny LEGO Snoopy and his flying red doghouse! But before we start the build, here’s a little story that inspired everything.
To be honest, I’ve never read, watched, or played with anything Snoopy-related. I know the guy mostly from the web, and that’s it. Of course, I saw that LEGO Ideas 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy’s Doghouse was now available, but I didn’t feel any kind of way towards it. Except maybe for the new grass pieces in green and yellow (definitely delicious-looking).
Podcast Inspirations
But enough about that—what inspired today’s build? Recently, I’ve been spending a lot less time on social media. If my screen app is not lying, it’s between 3 and 10 minutes a day on Instagram, which is pretty good. So, a few days ago, I picked up my phone and opened Instagram to do a quick look. The first thing I saw was a video posted by Tips&Bricks with three guys having a chat over a few LEGO sets, one of them being Snoopy’s Doghouse. Just then, I recognized BrickNerd’s very own Nerd-in-Chief Dave who was their guest!
He was talking about how he would mod the doghouse to be the Red Baron’s flying version. And this got me curious, I never knew Snoopy could also fly in that red house, and who is this Red Baron? So the first thing I did was to find the full video. Usually, I don’t watch or listen to LEGO podcasts—when building, I prefer music. But this time, because of that flying house and Dave, I sat down to watch it and decided to build a modded version of Snoopy and his house.

Base
We are starting with the cloud base (even though this was the last thing I actually built). And it’s mostly because I was too lazy to make a complete house, but this was only because Snoopy fits so perfectly on the roof I made, that I didn’t want to mess it up! :D
*One note here: While creating the instructions, I missed adding a 2x2 white dish piece on each side of the cloud. They should sit between the 3x3 dishes and 1x1 tile, like in the image above the instructions, but of course, they are totally optional.
Roof
Then we have the house…ok the roof, but it uses only few pieces and felt somewhat right!
Snoopy
Finally, the little rascal himself, Snoopy (who almost looks like Princess Leia if you squint a bit)! Don’t miss those clever goggles as you fly into the big blue sky!

Mod the MOC of the Mod
Finally, inspired by the initial Tips&Bricks video snippet about modding the doghouse set, I thought, “Why not mod my build as well!?” So here’s the mod on my own instructions, all inspired by Dave and Tips&Bricks—behold a Snoopy Flying Ace speeder bike!
Not bad for a character I knew almost nothing about a few days ago.
