LEGO Community Headlines and Highlights for September 2025

September brought no shortage of great LEGO content from around the globe! Here at BrickNerd, we took a look at the new version of the Black Pearl, evaluated whether the new Nike sets are a slam dunk or not, and met an AFOL making wonderful alternate builds from modular sets. We continued an ongoing series and looked at developing an individual style for your MOCs, took a sweet look at the new Friends beekeeper set, studied ingenious ways to build the humble chair, and went even sweeter yet with the Willy Wonka set.

In fact, we’ve published so many interesting articles in September that we’ve included an interactive calendar of them at the bottom of this post, so you can make sure you haven’t missed a thing. I couldn’t have scripted this one better. BrickNerd is wrapping up our “habitat week” of articles, and a few hours later this got posted. Even though we highlight one of his videos most every month, there are many more worth watching.

Big Ben Bricks: Closing the Business

As many train MOCers know, Big Ben Bricks has been a leader in the LEGO-compatible high quality specialty part business for 20 years. So, it was sad to read that the business will be closing. The website indicates interest in finding a buyer for the business, so we can hope the parts will continue to be available for years to come.

This is a great guide and walk-through to changing sets and building MOCs into the modular building standard for your custom LEGO cities at home.

Brick Machines: Infinite LEGO Xylophone Machine

Another WOW MOC is all I can say! The finished project is wonderful, and a peek behind the design process is always greatly appreciated.

We’ve all admired the large scale glued display models at LEGO brand retail stores. If you’ve always wanted to add one to your collection, fly into the Munich airport store and make your dreams come true!

Jay’s Brick Blog: LEGO House Master Builder Stuart Harris to hang up his yellow sneakers

All good things must come to an end. Stuart has been the heart and soul of the LEGO House from the early planning stage up to the present time. It is sad but understandable that he is ready to move on to new challenges and opportunities. Having personally met Stuart, those are big (yellow) shoes to fill!

Nate From the Internet: Printing a Life-Sized LEGO - The Two Towers

The journey continues with completion of the first and second towers. Assembly and testing of the drawbridge was another highlight of this episode. As we’re getting ready to publish, we see that the next installment has just been posted. So, stick around for a double feature!

Rebrickable: MOC Happy Cubes by mverschaeve

Here’s a nice LEGO version of the foam happy cubes puzzles. Instructions are there for all six colors of varying difficulty. The puzzle can be a simple 2D version with the frame or used to form 3D cubes.

The Brothers Brick: Dan Ko - Tiny Builds, Big Imagination

Even though Dan Ko (Jordan) is a fellow BrickNerd contributor, I still enjoyed reading this interview and learned a lot. Pound for pound, his tiny builds are off the chart in creativity!
