LEGO has announced they have launched their first digital vlog series for LEGO Ninjago called Ninja Vlogs. The vlogs feature Jay and Nya who are played by actors using motion capture and real-time rendering and it combines CGI along with a live action performance. LEGO has released a mysterious trailer that shows something is coming soon on June 26. It shows a 2×2 brick with the stud highlighted in different colors and the whole image glitches. LEGO did do another teaser a few months back with the hashtag #NFT but that tweet was quickly deleted. I’m not sure if this new teaser related to that or not. It’s also possible that it could be the LEGO Light Mode lighting kits that were shown off last year but haven’t heard anything about them since. We all know that Chronicle Books does a lot of LEGO puzzles and there is a new fan vote on LEGO Ideas for a theme for an upcoming puzzle product. Chronicle Books will be doing a 1,000 piece puzzle and they need you to submit entries that you think could be good enough to be on an upcoming product. If you didn’t see the June 2021 LEGO Store Calendar yet, LEGO will be doing a new kind of promotion for the new LEGO Ninjago 10th Anniversary BrickHeadz (40490). Instead of the usual gift-with-purchase, they will be trying out a new purchase-with-purchase promotion for it and in this case, the set will be $10 with a purchase of $85 in Ninjago products, in-store only. I can already see some issues with it. The main thing being the in-store only one. There are still a lot of people who don’t have a LEGO Brand Store or Discovery Center near them and will probably have to resort to the secondary market. There are also those who don’t want to go to a store because of the hassle. Another problem I see with the promotion is mostly for hardcore Ninjago fans who have collected every set. Sony has just dropped the Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer and we can see what the sequel has to offer. Woody Harrelson stars as the new Symbiote Carnage and we’ll see if it follows the origin story from the comics or if Sony puts their own spin on it. There are currently three LEGO sets that feature Carnage including the new Carnage (76199) bust. The other sets are the Venom Crawler (76163) and Spider-Man and Ghost Rider vs. Carnage (76173) which have nothing to do with the movie but I assume will be more popular once the movie hit theaters on September 24.
