I’ve never been to Iowa, so naturally I’ve never been to Albia. But I can tell you that in Albia they have a charming courthouse, stately standing on a lovely lawn. It’s surrounded by trees, statues and there’s even a gazebo. I can tell you this thanks to builder Chris Maddison, who has built this amazing little micro scale version of it. One of my guilty pleasures is Beavis and Butthead. Yes, there’s a load of sophomoric humor (ok, it’s mostly sophomoric humor) but there’s also so exceptionally clever writing and subtle humor going on. And I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard at any episode as I did “The Great Cornholio” where we see what happens when Beavis gets just a bit too much caffeine. A simple but very effective build by Pascal. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
The past few days, more official images of the 2019 LEGO Advent Calendars have popped up at online shops. There are four themes that have them which includes LEGO Harry Potter, Star Wars, Friends, and City. For those who don’t want to be spoiled, I’ve added some spoiler tags so that those images won’t show unless you click it or have java disabled. Thanks to everyone who emailed in about it. I’ve been just a tad busy the past five days. There was a lot of news to catch up on since I’ve been gone for the past few days to SDCC. I’ll do a recap of the event shortly but first some news that I missed. TT Games has announced that LEGO Worlds will be coming to an end in the near future but didn’t give a date of when. As a result, they have released their last DLC for free which includes all the showcased models from last year as well as sets, minifigures, and props. It’s sad to see the game go but at least you get to experience everything for free. The final collection of LEGO Worlds content is finally here for you to download and it’s absolutely FREE! As a thank you to all our Master Builders we’ve amassed a humongous bundle of minifigures, brick builds, props and more for you to craft even more lavish LEGO...

LEGO has released the first teaser for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Treehouse (21318). If you’ve been online for the past few weeks, you may already have seen images of the set including it being sold for a short time at San Diego Comic Con before being pulled from the shelves. The minute clip shows fan designer Kevin Feeser “planting” some seeds and we watch the tree grow through slides. The official announcement for the set will be coming soon. Yesterday was the last day for the LEGO minifigure giveaways at San Diego Comic Con 2019 and it was for the LEGO DC Zebra Batman. The card on the front shows the Batman 80th anniversary logo on the top right and the SDCC 50 logo. The back of it has an advertisement for the LEGO DC Super Villains video game. As for Zebra Batman himself, both sides of the torso have black stripes all over it. The front has the bat symbol and the belt is printed gold. The front of the legs and feet also have the stripes. This will be a common theme with this minifigure. The head is plain white with black lines to show the detailing for it like with the headband and his face. He does have a double-sided head and they are the usual grumpy and angry expressions. The cowl also has some stripes on...

As if the modification builder JK Brickworks made to LEGO 80102 Dragon Dance for smoother motion wasn’t cool enough, now he’s gone and added some 80’s nostalgia to it. Yes, it’s Falcor from The NeverEnding Story, flying smooth as silk thanks to some further modifications to the mechanism for even smoother sine wave motion. Check out the video to really appreciate the hard work and ingenuity that went into this. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
One of my earliest childhood memories is sitting on my dad’s lap watching news coverage of an Apollo mission. It may very well have been Apollo 11, but I just remember excitement and grainy black and white video of astronauts. While we celebrate the 50th anniversary of landing on the moon, a lot of artists are expressing their appreciation for the event in awesome ways. Builder Akula Bricks has recreated the Apollo Guidance Computer and the DSKY, a display and keyboard interface. I recognized this incredible feat of 1960’s engineering immediately, with it’s large keys and iconic multi segmented display. This version, with custom printed inserts, could be mistaken for the real thing it’s so accurate. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
I recall going to circus when I was young. I also recall it being rather unnerving and I’ve never been back. I really got the impression those animals wanted nothing to do with what was going on, and the trapeze artists had a seriously undeveloped sense of self preservation. But I’m totally digging this circus by builder DOGOD Brick Design, from it’s pop up backdrop to the meticulously crafted and bursting with character animals, it’s all delightful.
