Today’s guest article is written by Okay Yaramanoglu, a prolific MOC builder and LEGO reviewer from the Eurobricks Reviewers Academy days. You can find his work on Flickr, Rebrickable, YouTube, and on Eurobricks. Meet Mecha Team Leader I have a confession to make. I have never played Fortnite, not even the LEGO version. However, when the pictures of this Care Bear-Voltron-looking thing were released, I was intrigued because I do love giant robots. So, when BrickNerd reached out to me to potentially take a look at 77078 Mecha Team Leader, I happily accepted! LEGO boasts that this is one of the best mechs they’ve ever made. Is this true? To assess this statement, we need to look back at LEGO’s history of mechs first. A Brief Look at LEGO Mechs Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine a time when LEGO didn't make any mechs, but they used to be pretty uncommon. LEGO’s...

This year we received a Deluxe goody-box-set This year was the ten-year anniversary of Paredes de Coura Fan Weekend. To mark this milestone, let’s take a look at the history of the event, the LUG behind the event, and the AFOL Networking Events program. That story begins twenty years ago in 2005 when an ambitious LEGO employee , Jan Beyer, had the opportunity to organise a LEGO event in the small town of Skaerbaek in Denmark (or Skærbæk in proper Danish spelling). He took the opportunity and helped create the “LEGO Fan Weekend.” Jan’s intention was to take the AFOL hobby to the next level. He wanted to encourage AFOLs to look beyond borders, visit LEGO events abroad, and build an international network of LEGO friends. Considering the number of AFOLs now travelling to all corners of the world to attend events, I think he succeeded. Arte em Peças Nineteen years ago...

Today’s moment of peace and tranquility comes from the Golden Vallé vignette by Rémy (Rilbist). By Rémy’s own description, this family has lived in peace for quite a while at their windmill. I won’t ask Rémy how many plant stems were used, but they provide the most amazing texture for the field of wheat to frame this windmill. By adding varied height in the vignette, Rémy creates a natural flow to the field while also hiding the base of build itself, leaving the viewer with the texture of the dried wheat field. This spectacular model came in second place in its category in the Summer Joust. For a full list of winners, catch up with our Summer Joust 2025 roundup. The LEGO Group sent The Brothers Brick a free trial of this service for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews. Most of the time, the thought of non-official custom minifigs makes me twitchy… But then I was invited to try out the new Minifigure Factory Designer on Lego.com, and I was surprised by how much fun it was. I could even use it to create a new Castle faction! Of course, any new faction is also an excuse to create a new custom design, but first, let’s take the Minifigure Factory for a spin. While some LEGO stores have these Minifig Factory Stations on site, LEGO also allows you to create them directly on their website and have them shipped to you! (Sadly this feature is only available in the USA for the moment). You can mix and match parts, select a head, pick...
