Hey, remember those robot animals from when you were a kid? No, not the Dinobots and Insecticons. The ones that had pilots, I think they started with a “z”. No, not the Power Ranger Zords. The other ones, that were like model kits. Zoids! That’s them! Okay, I might not have remembered Zoids, but thankfully Aido Kessler does. And Aido’s love for the franchise has given us this amazing Liger Zero Jager build, a ferocious looking feline with wings on top of wings. Aido has also built a terrific looking display base for the Liger Zero, but don’t think that means he has to stay put. Following up on our alt build exploration of the first four sets from the latest wave of DreamZzz sets, today we have T.E. taking a look at one of the highlights of the wave, 71514 Dino Jet. After all, are there any two cooler words in the English language than “dino” and “jet”? LEGO has announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas Design a Vendor Cart building contest for a future gift with purchase set. There were 779 builds that were entered and the winner is Urban Face Sketcher by ArchGian7. There were also 14 runner up builds as well. The winning build will now go into production and will be released some time in the future, possibly at the end of this year/early next year. Today marks the 15 year anniversary of when the original two pilot episodes of Ninjago aired. I still remember it vividly, all these years later, sitting on the living room floor of my childhood home in early January of 2011. I was bundled up in blankets, looking up in awe at the TV. The screen showed a blacksmith shop, with the sound of metal clanging as a young blacksmith hammered it into the shape of a sword. Within moments, little me and that blacksmith, who I would soon learn was named Kai, would begin a 15-year journey filled with incredible characters, epic battles, and many memories that I will cherish for my life.
