Minifigs of spooky season – Return of the living bricks [Minifig Monday]

Placeholder Image

We’re back for a second roundup of Halloween minifigs, ranging from slightly spooky to downright terrifying. Warning – some of these get pretty dark!

Our cover image goes to 2brickmonsters who breaks out the trans neon green for an oozy splatterfest. There’s so much creative parts usage on display, but I think the green crowns as popping pustules takes the creepy cake. Excellent use of the Blacktron mutant CMF legs.

Zakar.ion gets into the Halloween spirit with The Grove’s Curse. Apparently the pumpkin patch got tired of getting carved up and decided to uproot and do some carving of its own!

_motherofcatdragons_  gets medieval with a perfect plague doctor. The Kubaz mask is a little bit creepy no matter what galaxy you’re from.

Photographer Studsby takes on a Sleepy Hollow Challenge and plays with shadows to create a Headless Horseman silhouetted against the full moon.

Speaking of “playign with shadows,” our friend Jacob Manahan (jdmbricks) shares one of my favorite builds of his to date where a mysterious dark being walks leads tethered shadows by lamplight.

JdmShadows

e.b_brixx provides no explanation for this eerie scene, but I love it. The all-white room, spectral dogs and Jack Skellington with a wig lit by neon green light feel like they’re pulled from a forgotten cult-classic animated film.

BrixxSkeleton

hero_figs takes inspiration from Charon the boatman of Hades with this clever build, the River Taxi. I love the sly tip of the hat from the grinning skeleton.

HeroFigsBoatsman

thebrickdwarf photographs a warrior who could use a getaway boat right about now. The black swan beast from the realm of the dead is quite terrifying with that Chima crow head on a tentacle neck.

henry_the_brickman_mocs digs up a nest of vampires from across the ages. I could watch six seasons of a documentary about these bloodsuckers living together.

BrickmanVampires

legopiratas documents a smaller vampiric den. Their unholy altar is a a great bit of macabre design.

ExpansionBricks is ready to fight the forces of darkness with a witch hunter armed with a bloody scythe, an anti-hex flintlock pistol, and, most importantly, a very good dog.

ExpansionWitchHunter

fish.buckle goes full body horror with the Artificer, a monstrosity of metal and wires crafted to a flesh torso. The retro LEGO minifig smile peeking out from under the visor is the creepiest part of all.

FishBuckleArtificer 1

2brickmonsters returns with a sadistic killer of a fig with an arsenal of tools for murder. That Hidden Side welding mask is perfect for hiding the new face of horror.

2brickMonstersWelder

stuntmanbrick applies his retro treatment to the original chainsaw-wielding horror icon. Be on the lookout for more of his clan. Leatherfaces are known to walk single file to hide their numbers.

StuntmanChainsaw

bricks.for_bricks goes big for a terrifying tribute to DOOM: the Dark Ages.  The builder uses a great mix of brick yellow elements for lumpy flesh body.

BricksDOOM

Sorry, coulrophobics. We saved the scariest fig for last! anotherlegoaccount continues their cavalcade of forgotten Horror movie icons through the decades. Here we have Pindrop the Mime, as seen in the 90s adaptation of SHHH! I still find the original to be scarier than the CGI heavy remake from a few years back.

AnotherSHHH

Congratulations, final girl! You’ve survived our second batch of minifig monsters. We’ll be back next week with one more roundup of Halloween haunts. If you enjoyed the creations we shared today, be sure to give the creators a follow and let them know!
